This was a premier event that attracted 400 people to the Astor Theatre in Mt Lawley.

It was held as a fund raiser for the festival and turned out to be a major success.

Everyone was treated to a rare showing of the "Blackboard Jungle" - the RocknRoll movie that started it all. They also got to see:

• A swing dance demo.
• Pretty usherettes serving free popcorn.
• RocknRoll dance performance.
• Music by the Roadmasters.
• Guest artists including Brenton Fosdike, Kelly Green and Peter Anderson.
• Special guest appearance by "Dame Edna".
• Radio jock Neville Limpus did a fine job as MC.
• And tons of Rock and Roll dance floor fun.

Great atmosphere was created by the many people who made an effort to dress up in 50's style costume.
